Destructible walls are already in, so blowing holes in walls is a reality! As for multi level maps, it’s theoretically done but I just need to construct some maps that use all the layers and put in 3D line of sight.
I like the retro feel of the graphics. Did you do them yourself? Will the game be free or paid?
Anyways, keep up the good work. As far as I know there is no squad based games in the App store – yours will be the first!
Do it for the iPad, too…
You’ll become veeeery rich!!
Remember: give the ability to personalise the players: one of the killer ideas of UFO was to name yr team as your friends. Now you could even give the possibility to use a friend picture to better personalise the faces of the team members.
Nice the retro graphics, but better a bit more complex and up to date.
Good Work!
This is looking awesome! keep up the great work! you’ve got an eager customer here
I think there should be the option for a D-pad type arrows for moving the character. (eg tap left 3 times to move 3 squares left) as some times its hard to press exactly the right spot on the iphone screen if you have big fingers.
Really looking forward to this. Was a very big fan of Xcom Terror of the deep (and also Laser Squad). Do you know when this game will be published at this time.
Thanks! Right now it’s just me, but I’m looking to team up with Moj over at TOME Studios soon so we can pump out a free demo that’ll let you play a tactical mission to defend your base. There are too many things that can’t be accurately estimated though so a release date can’t be made, but I’ll keep posting updates so you can keep track of it all.
And Yes, iPad will be supported along with iPhone, iPod Touch and Mac OS X
Very good work on the game so far it’s looking awsome. I love XCOM so I’m very eager to get this game. As for the combat screens I’m interested to know if you are going to be able to zoom in or out to get a better view of where you want to touch the screen to move or shoot so as to not get frustrated by accidents; as it can be very hard to be accurate even with the tinniest fingers.
As for copy write issues are you going to have a problem with using some similar ideas to XCOM?
I really wish you well for this project – Xcom was a supreme game!!!
Are you also planning to implement the “global strategy” aspect of Xcom? The screenshots so far are only of the TBS part of the game – but that is really only half the Xcom experience.
There are now a few TBS games on the iPod, but all of them focus only on the fighting part. The finance, base and research element of Xcom is what made it truly stand out – for me anyway.
Will there be destructible multiple level buildings like in xcom? I always loved blowing holes in the walls of buildings where aliens were hiding.

I am so looking forward to playing this! Thanks in advance for all of your hard work on it! What looks to be a ship date at this point?

This is incredible, and I commend you for taking the initiative to create the game. I’ll tell everyone when it’s available in the AppStore.
