So you want to help. Great! There are many things you can do to help make Isochron a success.
Spread the word:
This is probably the easiest thing you can do to help. By letting others know about the project and getting them to follow the progress of the game, you confirm for us that we’re not wasting our time. We want to build an awesome tactical squad based game around an engaging story and getting that to people who want it is the biggest driving factor.
Participate in the blog:
Posting comments in the blogs lets us know you’re still interested in Isochron and gives you an excellent soapbox to air your questions or concerns (and support!).
Give game ideas:
While we can’t implement everything, we have had some great ideas emailed to us that we’ve now included in the game. We’ll read every email and try to reply to all of them too because we’re keen to get the most out of Isochron as we can and keep you in the loop about it. Some things do conflict with our overall vision though so please don’t be offended if we can’t use your ideas.
Give content:
Getting high quality content can be expensive – but so can advertising your skills if you’re an up and coming game artist (Graphics or otherwise). If you’re willing to donate game content in return for being part of a released game then get in contact with us now! We’ll be more than happy to sort something out.
Donate:
And finally if you’ve already told everyone you know about Isochron, and you’re happy with the ideas already going forward then putting forward some money will help enormously.
What will my money go to?
Like we’ve said before – High quality content can be expensive, so we spend a lot of time working on other tasks so we can trickle some more money into Isochron. Any donations will go straight to content so you’ll be buying:
- Sprite work
- Game concept art
- In game artwork
- Music
- Voice actors
- Professional level design
- Online game hosting
- Supporting media like websites etc
- Spreading the word
Any donation from very small to very large will be accepted. While we can’t guarantee a complete return on your investment, we can guarantee that your money will be buying content for Isochron and will help towards making Isochron an immersive, content rich game.
Thanks to all those who have donated already! your contributions have already gone into much of the sprite and animation work so far!

Can I help with any of the art stuff like concept art or art like in xcom used as the loading screens etc?
Absolutely!
Send me an email and we can get started..
Question: Is there a storyline/script that needs work? I have some writing experience and I wouldn’t mind helping out on the project.
I’ve dropped you an email as well but if you need music produced and/or sound design let me know
Is there anything that can be helped out with as far as writing articles for the UFOpedia, background story, etc?
I’m in much the same situation as Gozer the Carpathian. I’ve got some writing experience and many, many years playing these sorts of games under my belt.
I’m also a pretty decent sounding board for things like weapons, alien races, etc.
Would like to help with documentation when the time is right for that. This is a huge failing in games right now IMHO and would love to help make sure that this game doesn’t suffer from that.
Email any time.
k
let me know what you need. i need this game =)
Email me I’d love to help
If you need any beta tester, count me in.
Really looking forward to this game. I check your website regularly. The early footage looks great!
Have you considered doing a http://www.kickstarter.com fundraiser for the project?
It’s a great way to get funds for extra help with graphics for example, or even more programmers if you’re looking for help there.
It’s also a good way of rewarding people who donate, by setting up the bonus system they make use of. Perhaps you could make some unlockable in-game items/characters available only to people who pledged so and so much, credits in the game for very large pledges, or perhaps your name as an NPC you meet in the game for top pledges (if you plan on doing anything with named characters).
I looked at that a long time ago. Unfortunately they don’t support Australian accounts so I couldn’t get any money from them. Hopefully they will change their rules soon because it’s a great idea.
Really? I think it may have changed since last you looked
because I recently backed the Troll Bridge project by Australian based Snowgum Films:

Hi is your xcom clone still in development?
Isochron is still alive but it’s finish date is up in the air. It’s all about finding the right talent at the right time to take what’s already been done and pushing it over the finish line. And even when Isochron is in full development again it’ll be tough to decide how far to go with it in the first iteration. No point in creating something that’ll get old in 10 minutes.
Yeah dude, kickstart is a great way to make money for game development – I know some friends who make game design, received about 10k pounds through this site although they only needed 2k.
I cant wait for Isochron to come out, let me know if you need any kind of help.
