While Isochron has been moving forward in the content creation side of things, Lost Company (Built by the two of us over at TOME Studios) is gearing up for its Alpha test period. If you haven’t been following, here’s what it’s up to:

looks like worms ?!, when comes isochron ??
As I’m sure you can imagine, creating a game to follow XCom is a massive task. The tactical parts are nearly done (and have been for a while) but creating the world around that is taking a long time as I try to make it as believable and engaging as I can. It’s really a job that’s too big for one person, so that’s some of the reason why I’ve been pushing some of my resources into Lost Company. Once money starts coming in for Lost Company I’ll be hiring a team to help me get Isochron out the door as quickly as possible.
The other reason for working on Lost Company is that it’s a fun game! It’s a great way to challenge friends to a tactical battle and has a rule set that most people will find easy to learn and play.
Off topic here – but have just heard about your Isochron project, and can’t wait for it. I was considering picking up some books and learning to program, as I have been missing X-Com action that much. Delighted to hear someone else beating me to it – loving the look of the screenshots so far.
p.s. I see I may have missed the boat on suggestions for aliens – but one idea to help increase scope could be to increase to amount of cybernetic organisms. I’m thinking along the lines of the cyberdiscs – perhaps having a number of enemies that are too heavily plated to take out with weapons other than electrical ones.
On a tangent, another cool idea could be stimulants for soldiers. This could maybe have the effect of recovering or boosting energy at the expense of health.
I’m planning to use implants to boost stats, but drugs for short term boosts would be good too.. Maybe they can even work together (or against each other) to give different results..
Or maybe using them stims would be good for only set amount turns till drugs wear off then u get – stats fromcoming down. Either way welcome and glad to have someone else like the rest of us wanting this to finsh but not too fast
Also i find my self search app store for lost company hehe
Again, I may be a bit late for suggestions – but I have a mission idea also. I presume you will still have the situation of some soldiers/aliens surviving missions as wounded – which would mean you could have long-odds escape missions. Should you lose your squadron, but with a soldier or 2 surviving wounded, they could then be abducted – leading to a mission in a flying enemy spacecraft that has to be overcome and captured (a tough act, but one that would have good financial benefits). In reverse, when you capture live aliens you could have missions from time to time where they break out and pose a threat to your base (maybe make it so the more live aliens that are held increases the chances of them escaping).
Well you can count on my (Insert Dollar amount here) for Lost Company just to support Isochron. I’m also signed up to Beta (since Alpha wasn’t an option in the drop down) whatever you need. I’m already testing the website obviously.
Any news about ur progress on Isochron
sooo no news
Yay! Looking forward to this, found you whilst mooching to see if anyone had made a squad game yet… good luck!!
Is the game still on ?
no news for sooo long :’(
Isochron is still on but moving very slowly at the moment. I’ve been totally swamped with the business side of things for the last few months which hasn’t helped either. Making games was so much easier when I didn’t have to worry about making money and being legally protected
BUT, the good news out of it all is that I may get a team working on Isochron which would be awesome..
ohh the wait is torturing
get that team cracking
